Summary: I made up a couple of recipes for klah, which would be the Pern coffee equivalent. Then I drew a fire lizard drinking klah, which does not happen in the books. Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre thing.
Klah I
1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/8 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 tsp honey
1 cup water or milk
Mix dry ingredients together in a mug, then add just enough water or milk to make a smooth paste (about 2 tsp). Then add the rest of the water or milk and microwave until hot (about 1 and 1/2 minutes). Add the honey, then possibly add more honey to taste, since it's about as bitter as coffee.
Klah II (Spicy)

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 pinch cayenne
1 tsp honey
1 cup water or milk
